Peculiarities of the Intimate Life of Modern Czechs: Research Results

Last year, the results of the research work conducted by CZECHSEX specialists were presented.The topic was the study of the sexual culture of Czech residents and statistics related to this area. About 4 thousand people took part in the online survey. Another 2,000 answered questionnaires about all the nuances of human sexuality. Interesting facts that were found out in the course of the survey of Czechs on the relevant sensitive topic are described in the following text.

Age for first sex

According to the data, this event occurs for the first time for Czech boys at the age of 18.3, while local girls lose their virginity at the age of 17 and a half on average.
A few decades ago, the age of first coitus for males was earlier – at 17.8 years.
This event mostly becomes episodic, and regular sexual activity among young people in the Czech Republic begins later. However, there is other data that show evidence of sexual stimulation in young people and orgasm long before the first sex with a partner. Boys start masturbating at the age of 14.4 and girls at the age of 16.6. There is also a decrease in the age of first viewing pornography to 14 years and a few months, regardless of gender. At the same time, the vast majority of people said that they are currently satisfied with their intimate life and prefer partner relationships to masturbation.

This kind of difficulty is sometimes experienced by about 55% of ladies and 61% of gentlemen who took part in the study. The respondents noted the temporary nature of this phenomenon, and its typical causes were prolonged stress, fatigue, and dissatisfaction.

Interestingly, more than 13% of Czechs nowadays start their close relationships with online dating. In neighboring Germany, the corresponding figure is only 9%. Czech youth prefer online dating.

Among the respondents, 7% were representatives of non-traditional sexual orientation. In terms of the total population of the country, this figure is more than 700 thousand people.

Interesting facts

CZECHS researchers also found the following facts related to sex in the Czech Republic.

• About 17% of female respondents and 5% of male respondents have experienced a threat or actual act of sexual violence. Moreover, one fifth of the affected girls faced this tragedy before the age of 15. The vast majority of these people did not go to the police, which is alarming.
• Almost 80% of Czech residents have experience of watching pornography. Viewers of videos of this genre in the country include 90% of men and almost 68% of women. A part of this audience regularly watches live broadcasts of videos with spicy content on the Internet. -Approximately one-third of all adult males in the country have experienced the phenomenon of sexting, which is the name given to sending nude photos on the Internet.
• The overwhelming majority of Czech men see nothing wrong with watching pornography and consider it acceptable for married couples and partners in long-term relationships.
• There is a sex machine museum in Prague, with an exposition on three floors. It exhibits devices for intimate massage, stimulants, and various devices for intimate games.
• In large Czech cities, brothels are unofficially available to lovers of sexual entertainment, often under the secret names of nightclubs, cabarets, or erotic cafés.
